Grimm’s Bluff | Happy Canyon- Santa Barbara County, CA
Biodynamic Estate Vineyard
Grimm’s Bluff is a 246 family-owned ranch and vineyard on a bluff overlooking the Santa Ynez River in the Happy Canyon district of Santa Barbara County, southeast of Santa Ynez. They have 16.5 acres of vineyard planted to Bordeaux varieties that thrive in the gravel, clay and loamy soils of Happy Canyon. Warm days are moderated by an afternoon wind that blows down the Santa Ynez valley from the west, a defining characteristic of appellation. Since first planting vines in 2012, Grimm’s Bluff has followed Biodynamic and organic farming. With noted winemaker Paul Lato consulting in the cellar, it is no surprise that these wines represent some of the most distinctive and elegantly crafted Bordeaux-inspired wines in the Central Coast.
