Roark Wine Company

Mindful Wine Journal: Producer Spotlight

Roark Wine Company | Santa Barbara County, CA

Ryan Roark is a Texan who landed in California via the Loire Valley. Upon establishing himself in the Central Coast, he began producing small lot negociant-style wines with purchased fruit from carefully selected organic and sustainably farmed vineyards. Ryan has become increasingly involved in the farming of these sources, and today farms 70% of the purchased fruit himself in keeping with organic protocols. The Roark Wine Co. motto is “naturally made, classically styled.” This translates to delicious and affordable European-style wines made with native yeast fermentation, no new oak in the cellar, little to no sulfur additions, and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
