I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: I’ll be serving as moderator at this year’s STARS of Pinot, on Thursday, July 24th at The Peninsula Beverly Hills. This elegant event presented by Ian Blackburn and Learn About Wine in partnership with Charitybuzz brings together over 40 exceptional Pinot Noir producers for an immersive tasting experience and a thoughtful celebration of one of the world’s most expressive grape varieties.

If Pinot speaks to you—or if you're curious to discover why it continues to captivate me and so many others—this event is a perfect opportunity to explore its magic.

Event Highlights

  • Over 100 top-tier Pinot Noir selections poured by more than 40 celebrated wineries

  • Live panel discussion with acclaimed winemakers (moderated by yours truly :)

  • Dehours & Fils Champagne from magnum to start the evening

  • Gourmet tray-passed hors d’oeuvres, cheese & dessert station

  • Tritan Pinot Noir glass (yours to keep)

  • Silent auction benefiting Children's Hospital & more

In addition to the evening activities, I’ll also be moderating a VIP trade-only panel and luncheon earlier in the day. If you’re a member of the trade and would like to attend, please reach out to Ian Blackburn at Ian@LearnAboutWine.com for more details.

A Full Circle Moment

Pinot Noir has always held a special place in my heart. As a wine professional, vineyard steward, and advocate for mindful drinking, I’m constantly inspired by this grape’s ability to reflect time, place, and intention in the glass.

That connection deepened even further when my husband and I became stewards of Groundstar Vineyard—our Biodynamic and regeneratively farmed Pinot Noir-focused vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA of Santa Barbara County. Living and working with this grape from the ground up has given me a new level of appreciation for the labor, patience, and intuition it demands—not to mention the extraordinary beauty it can express when grown and made with care.

Being invited to moderate the STARS of Pinot Winemaker Panel is a true honor—and a full-circle moment. I’m excited to bring my perspective as a grower, sommelier, and advocate for mindful wine to this conversation, and to share space with some of the most thoughtful and talented voices in the Pinot world today.

Let's Raise a Glass

Whether you're a longtime Pinot lover or simply Pinot-curious, this event offers a beautiful opportunity to connect with the wines, the people behind them, and a greater purpose. Proceeds support important work, and the evening promises to be full of joy, flavor, and inspiration.

I would love to see some familiar faces from the Mindful Wine community there. If you attend, please come say hello—and let's raise a glass together.

With gratitude,

Chiara
